The Show Larry brings guitar, banjo and Autoharp and a songbag of over 400 tunes from the Americana landscape. Solo shows are designed to move along quickly with a stunning diversity of memorable songs and a big dose of friendliness.
A riveting vocalist and stellar yodeler, Larry leaves audiences spellbound by the range and diversity of songs. The music that is the fabric of America is brought to life in Larry's performances. Also renowned for his solid, tasty, and lightning fast acoustic instrumentals on banjo, guitar, and Autoharp, Larry can even play 2 songs simultaneously on the guitar or banjo. The fast-paced show can also be a duo with son Nolan Bronson, a fast emerging singer and instrumentalist. Blessed with a soulful voice that ranges from tenor to bass and trademark finger-picking style guitar, Nolan adds a richness and diversity to any show. A fine soloist in his own right, Nolan's treatment of ballads such as "Gentle On My Mind" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling" are not to be missed. Nolan is a fine guitarist in his own right--both with fingerpicks and a flatpick. Nolan's and Larry's vocals have rare clarity and resonance that is realized when family members sing or yodel together. Larry says, "Performing with my son is really a joy. Wherever we go, audiences catch the enthusiasm and connection that we have as father and son doing the music we love." Both the solo and duo acts feature ballads, novelty tunes, folk ditties, catchy instrumental tricks, kids songs, yodeling and lots of humor. Inspirations include the Kingston Trio, Woody Guthrie, Carter Family, Gordon Lightfoot, Elizabeth Cotten, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Pete Seeger, Eagles, Sons of the Pioneers, Rose Maddox, and traditional sources. A few feature tunes: I've Been Everywhere, Freight Train, MTA, Worried Man, Did She Mention My Name, Wabash Cannonball, Jambalaya, I'm My Own Granpaw, Ghost Riders, Cool Water, Tom Dooley, Fair and Tender Ladies, Roll On Columbia, The Auctioneer, This Land is Your Land. Tunes from many Americana sources enliven and diversify, engaging listeners of all ages. Audience requests and singing along encouraged as appropriate to the venue. The goal is to work closely with you to create a truly memorable experience.
